We had a bit of sunshine today and got up to a warm 10 degrees, so out we went with the twinz for some zoomie fun. You can tell that as long as they remained on the packed down path, they had smooth zoomin' ... as soon as they jumped off the path, it was like snow's version of quicksand.

Watch as a bald Eagle dives in for chow and heads back to his nest. It was tough for me to follow in the viewfinder and I lost him briefly but picked him back up as he flew towards the nest and met up with another Eagle.

Hello friends ~ remember this past spring when I was helping to find a home for a dog named Timber? Turns out his given name was Rodney. I worked with Rodney for nearly a month before Laura & Ed decided to adopt him. Rodney is an absolutely a fantastic dog. He is a low to mid energy, low maintenance kinda dog that loves to hang out and snuggle or go for a run. He is extremely well behaved and well adjusted. He is in wonderful physical condition and when I was working with him, he could run 3-4 miles easy; but his behavior does not demand exercise as high energy dogs do. He is up for whatever you are. He travels well in the car and was polite with the dogs and cats he was introduced to and lived with while with Laura. He seems to prefer dogs that are smaller than him. This boy truly deserves a place to call home. Perhaps that home is with you??

From Laura "Hello, all~ with a heavy heart Ed & I have decided that we need to find a new home for our wonderful Rodney. With running our doggie B&B our private living area is set up for Chihuahua's, not larger type dogs. He needs more space than we can give him. He truly is "practically perfect in every way". He has been a joy in our family & will be truly missed. He does well with dogs smaller than himself, with children, large & small. He has no bad habits that we've ever come across. "RD" is a 3 year old Alaskan Malamute, but after being virtually left to his own defenses his entire life, he is thrilled about everything as a puppy would be. He Loves Loves LOVES human contact, if you don't want to pet him, that is ok ~ he will rub all over you, flipping upside down, leaning on you, sitting on your lap. He will sit facing you and gently place his paws on your shoulders and give you a face full of kisses. He chews his bone like it is made of doggie gold. We will keep up with his training every day and hopefully we will soon meet up with the right family that will love & care for him forever as he will do the same in return.

AJ has basically been living with RD downstairs night and day. He is 3 years old and had not been house trained, leash trained, any type of obedience work in that 3 yrs. He was left, neglected & left to his own accord in a yard. So what Andy has done in the past few weeks is nothing short of a miracle. AJ utilizes exercise and positive training techniques and as you can see, RD is loving it & thriving!

Saturday, July 26th, 2014 after the Au Sable River International Canoe Marathon Parade ~ The Grand Traverse Pipes & Drums head to "Spike's Keg O' Nails" for a few final performances. They are absolutely a crowd favorite. For their final piece, they played "Grace" as a salute to our Fallen Warriors ~ I joined them in their salute. To our men & women in uniform ~ past & present ~ to those who have come home and to those who have given the ultimate sacrifice ~ we salute you.

So wonderful to see that Teddy's new meds are helping him get back to enjoying life again. He is doing really well. Each day with the PAWZ Pack is a Blessing.

Charlie is a 4 year old lab / pittie mix available for adoption at the Otsego County Animal Shelter (989) 705-7632 ~ Gaylord, Michigan ~ Charlie picked up the ins and outs of bike-joring in all of about 60 seconds. He had no problems learning to lead or following the directions "Hike" (go) and "Whoa" to stop. A simple echt sound would stop him from investigating the ducks, beavers and birds. In all ~ he ran like a seasoned professional. Quite the enjoyable afternoon. After our ride, I took Charlie across the road from the shelter and practiced his basic obedience; heel, sit, stay, etc. He did fantastic! He is food motivated and a very eager to please guy.
Due to his size, he would do best in an active adult home. I personally have not tested him with other dogs or cats as of yet.
**I apologize for the shakiness of the video but we were cruzin' pretty good and with the sun shining on my video screen I could not tell if the lens was on Charlie or not. I hope you enjoyed the video despite that.

This was fun ~ Teddy is such a ham climbing up on the cooler shelf ;o) We saw the tight squeeze between the workout boxes and figured we would see if Teddy would climb up and over. Every obstacle we tried ~ he did with no problems.

Teddy took a ride to Walmart and Lowes today. We had him scaling piles of mulch & pallets, climbing between & under stocked shelves in the grocery store and the lumber yard. Following us around the store with little to no coaxing on our part ~ Teddy did everything we asked of him and more. He had quite the fan club by the time we left. He loved every minute of it as you will witness in this sequence of videos.

Teddy Bear playing "find it" in 3-4 feet of snow. Temps were near zero F. Due to Teddy's allergy, his coat is extremely thin which is why he is wearing his coat & his silky furred paws collect very painful ice balls between his pads ~ so he gets to wear his sporty ultra paws booties :o)

Memorial Day has always been a day that is hard for me to "celebrate". With the weight of our fallen fathers, mothers, sons, daughter & friends resting upon my heart ~ I have never felt joy or the desire to have a party. Only recently have I changed my feelings on this day. How would our fallen want us to honor their sacrifice? By remembering them & celebrating the Freedom they gave us. With thanks to the men & women of the Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Navy & Marine Corps... we salute you.

This is the 1st time Teddy has been asked / directed to climb anything or walk on unknown surfaces.
